Our Team
The Chicago Medical-Legal Collaborative (CMLC) is powered by a dedicated team of advocates, clinicians, legal professionals, and community organizers united by a shared commitment: ensuring that the most vulnerable members of our community have access to both the medical and legal support they deserve.
Our team brings together expertise that spans medicine, law, public health, social work, and grassroots advocacy. We believe that health and justice are inseparable—and that meaningful change happens when these disciplines work together, not in silos.
Whether we are coordinating direct services for detained individuals, building partnerships with legal aid organizations, or training the next generation of medical-legal advocates, our work is grounded in the lived experiences and expressed needs of the communities we serve.
CMLC's strength lies in the diversity of perspectives our team carries into every case, campaign, and collaboration. We are clinicians who understand courtrooms, lawyers who understand clinic rooms, and organizers who understand both. Together, we are building a model of advocacy that treats the whole person—body, mind, and legal standing—with the dignity and urgency they deserve.
